Blake, we all know that's not true. Good try. You're so worried about having your gi clean and being spotless you bring a lint brush to get anything off of it between rolls. :)

I just don't wash mine....ever. No problems with freying or fadeing. And if you havent noticed, the awfull smell makes my oponents hate rolling with me so much they just tap out to get away from me. Thus I go un-defeated against allmost everyone!

Definitely no dryer action for mine. Highly recommend 2 Gis at least. When hitting 2 or more days in a row it's nice to have an alternate while the other is still drying. Hang 'em where the kids aren't going to mess with them or your cats can't use them as scratching posts.

Read reviews on Gis to see the ones people are and are not having problems with. Check out http://gi.jokerjitsu.com/ . It was from the info on this site that I made my choices.

To keep the color from fading quickly, add vinegar to the the first wash. Seems to help set the dye.

I would concur with all your points. My real issue is with fading. Black gis tend to fade way more than blue gis. I guess the dye molecules just cling onto the fibres that bit better with blue. I've tried salt, vinegar and all the other techniques but tbh it makes little long term different. The only thing is to re-dye it which gives different if not undesirable results.

One thing I do make sure I do is to spray any blood spots and dark stains on my white gis with Vanish or other stain remover before loading it into the washing machine.

But apart from that, as you know, I'm obsessed with gis and have so many that I have a lot of rotation going on, henc eless wear and tear overall.
