I'll ask my friend the next time I see him (he lived there for 6 months and was the one who took me to the school). I don't speak portugeuse so I was just following along with "monkey see monkey do". He probably knows how to do it, but it takes me way more than one class to learn how to do something properly. Old dog, new tricks etc. etc.

Wow, I learned that sweep before (although I can't pull it off because I get nervous doing moves, like rolling over backwards, that put pressure on my neck). I learned it at Fightzone in Rio when I took a class there. It's part of a series (you showed two of them there) of about 6 moves. If you're playing around with it, one of the other parts is kicking your left leg up and coming around for a back take. I don't remember the rest, but they are all based on reactions to defend the sweep (one is a deep half, one is technical stand up etc, so I'm sure you will figure them out).

My halfguard sweeps are pretty simple 1) Old school, 2) Plan B, and 3) Fowler's Unstoppable sweep (60% of the time, it works everytime!).
